new freenas instal issue

Hi all

I have had LMS running on my desktop for a couple of years now with no issues.
I have now moved it to a microserver running freenas 8.3

I use Itunes to store all my cd's which were ripped with apple lossless. My desktop pc is set to use the nas box itunes xml file and works great.

However if I try and access from my laptop then I get no files showing in the scan.

but If I put the nas itunes media folder into the basic settings page then the scan picks up the music but says it cant play the format.

Im sure im just missing something stupid but im totally stuck

Help please !!!
