Whither playlists?

I am stymied by a playlist problem.

I recently set up a new music server. The music files are now on an external hard drive, and all of the music files play perfectly. The same cannot be said for the playlists I have set up.

The playlist folder is correctly pointed-to in LMS, and is in the same parent folder as all the music files. This is unchanged from the previous arrangement, and the playlist references are similarly unchanged. The references are relative (e.g. using ". . file path").

However, LMS reports that the playlist folder is "empty".

I just cannot figure out what is going on. Suggestions?
