MusicIP mixes and tracks with accented characters

I used to run MusicIP and LMS on a Mac but then an OSX upgrade seemed to break MusicIP completely so I haven't bothered using MusicIP for a couple of years now.

I recently bought a barebones PC (Gigabyte Brix running Windows 7) to run LMS and thought I would try to get MusicIP working again.

After a bit of faffing around*, I managed to get LMS and MusicIP working, however have come across one issue.

If I choose a track with an accented character in the artist, album or track name and select "Create MusicIP Mix" for that track, a mix is successfully generated, however the first seed track in the mix (the one with accented characters) doesn't play. It also seems if the mix contains other tracks with accented characters, they don't play either.

This seems to be something to do with encoding of the track location.

LMS has no problem displaying and playing a track with accented characters, for example, this one at location:
V:\iTunes\Music\Trentemøller\The Last Resort\03 Evil dub.m4a

However after selecting "Create MusicIP Mix" for this track, it generates a mix with this track as the seed track with location:
V:\iTunes\Music\Trentemøller\The Last Resort\03 Evil dub.m4a

and of course this doesn't play as the location is incorrect.

The debug logs show the following:
[15-01-04 19:55:07.2044] Slim::Plugin::MusicMagic::Plugin::getMix (975) Creating mix for: song using: V:\iTunes\Music\Trentemøller\The Last Resort\03 Evil dub.m4a as seed.
[15-01-04 19:55:07.2065] Slim::Plugin::MusicMagic::Plugin::getMix (986) Request http://localhost:10003/api/mix?song=...tracks&size=12

So with my limited knowledge it does seem that LMS has a problem with the encoding of the tracks provided by MusicIP.

I sent the mix request directly using a browser accessing the MusicIP API and it seemed to return correctly encoded tracks.

Any other information that would be useful to figure out what is going on?

I'm running Logitech Media Server Version: 7.8.1 - 1418369688 on Windows 7.

* I don't know if this is relevant, however I was unable to get MusicIP scanning working on Windows 7. I was able to get scanning to work using Windows XP so I made the file path to my music on a NAS the same for both Windows XP and Windows 7 machines, did the scanning using Windows XP then copied the MusicIP default.m3lib file to the Windows 7 PC. This seemed to work ok.
