LMS Can't Communicate with MySqueezebox.com - Couldn't Resolve IP Address

I have used Squeezeboxes for many years and have never run into problems until now.

Suddenly my LMS has been unable to communicate with Mysqueezebox.com, and I have been unable to access the plugin-folder or most importantly the 3rd Party Spotify Plugin.

I get 2 error statements: "An unexpected error occurred while validating your mysqueezebox.com account." when trying to put in my password in the control panel. and various " Couldn't resolve IP address for: www.mysqueezebox.com" errors when trying to access the plugins folder. When searching for the plugins, I see that LMS is looking for a "127.0.0.1" address which is I think the default when it is not communicating.

The Diagnostics Panels shows all OK (pings ports etc). No problems accessing mysqueezebox.com from the web browser.

What I have done:
1- rebooted everything (computer, router, wireless adapter, LMS
2- Uninstalled (including preferences) and re-installed the latest 7.8 LMS software
3- tried a different router
4- Turned off and on Firewalls (windows and Webroot)

NOTE: the trouble I am having is with my main Windows 8.1 computer - LMS runs perfectly (but more slowly) and accesses Mysqueezebox from my Synology NAS which uses exactly the same router/wireless connection.

Any ideas? I am at this point totally clueless. Thanks in advance.
