I have an SB2 and LMS v7.7.2
I guess? it started since this version was downloaded. I've had this for over 5 years and had never has this problem. It scans fine. I only have 300 or so CDs and 2500 songs.
When I access the web interface from either a remote laptop or the desktop where the music and LMS is installed, it takes forever to load the page.
Today I used Google Chrome instead of IE8 (or 9), and Classic skin. It might have helped a bit.
Once it loaded navigating thru the settings was tedious, but a bit faster. Forget using it to pick songs / browse folders.
Any ideas?

Both my PCs have worked fine with LMS in the past. The remote works fine. The music plays great. Just the web interface takes forever to load. I get the mesage "wating for <localhost>" as it loads.
Forever in this case means over 15 minutes
