I read on many forums that the people using PC's directly into a DAC go to all sorts of lengths to optimize their sound, both on the hardware and software sides.
Many talk about minimizing the number of OS system processes that are running to improve the sound.
The PC I use is a GigaByte GB-BXBT-1900 with 1TB SSD running WIN7/LMS (I do use a linear power supply instead of the supplied wall wart)
My Transporter is connected into a DAC and is wired over ethernet directly into the PC (no switch/router in play)
Given the Transporter is doing all the "rendering" and the PC is basically using 2% CPU when playing WAV files, is there any benefit in optimizing WIN7 (or using Linux instead)?
Thanks,
Peter
