Update from 7.7.5 to 7.9

Hi,
I'm running V7.7.5 as a service on Win7. Now I want to update to 7.9 because of the improvements with Album-Artists. Is it possible to update without loosing the settings and plugins? Or is a deinstall of 7.5 required?
