> Is there a release plan for the community supported LMS?

The question has come up a few weeks ago, but I can't find that thread...

My response was roughly: no, I don't have a plan.

7.8 is the stable community release. Only bug fixes should go into 7.8.1.

7.9 is a different beast. It has seen many more changes than 7.8. Some
in fact are so important I've been playing with the thought of renaming
it LMS 8.0 :-). But that's kind of a dreaded number, as we (Logitech) at
some point started to plan for a LMS 8 which should have brought tons of
really important changes. Tons of work which killed the project in the
starting block.

There is no major plan as to where 7.9 should go. I don't think full
text search, customizable browse modes, and virtual libraries were ever
listed on the same page. When I see some unused code lying around, I
remove it. When I have more time and a good idea, I implement a new
feature. That's where we are today...

I'm reluctant to do a so, mostly because it's work.

No large changes have made it to 7.9 since April. More polish.
