I have been running LMS 7.7.3 on Debian 7.7 for some time. When the machine crashed I attempted to install LMS 7.7.5 (downloaded from mysqueezebox.com) on a Debian 8.2, 64-bit machine and a Mint 17.2, 32 bit machine. In both cases the installation fails.
On the Debian 8.2 machine LMS seems to install, but will not start. "service --status-all" returns (?) for logitechmedia server. Neither "service logitechmediaserver start" nor "service logitechmediaserver stop" alters the status.
Attempted to install LMS 7.7.3 on Debian 8.2 machine with the same result. Status = (?).
I didn't note exactly how the Mint installation failed.
I was able to install 7.7.5 on another Debian 7.7 machine.
I would prefer to use the current release of Debian. Anyone else had this problem? Is there a solution?
