after several years of satisfied music listening I am a little bit confused.

When I look on the network traffic of my Qnap server (TS-112) it is far below the 768kbps of the FLAC.
Is this a bit/Byte Problem, that means I have to multiply the approx 120 KB/s by 8 -> 960bit/s?
Is anyone sure about that?
