can't reach LMS webinterface via http://localhost:9000

Hi all,
I have sucessfully installed Bananian on a BPI M1. I can ssh/telnet that machine. I ran the LMS 7.8.1 deb install and looking at the processes via top, I see that the user squeezeb is running the squeezeboxserve process.

I also installed LXPE and iceweasel so I can key in the URL http: // localhost:9000 , but it displays an "unable to connect"? What is wrong?
