Suddendly getting small skips in 192/24 music in a completely wired system

so my Logitech media server is running on a powerful fairly recent laptop and has been doing so for quite some time. nothing in my setup is wireless. I am using EDO. lately, when playing 192/24 files, I am hearing skips. What's interesting is that I have files that are as large and sometimes larger in 24/96 and there, I get no skips at all. I have been successfully playing 192/24 music no problems. In looking at my log files, the below are consistent errors but I don't think it's related but really these logs are pretty greek to me:

the above is repeated in my logs very often and my logs are blowing up with the above. when looking at memory, bandwidth and cpu traffic, nothing comes close to topping out.

any ideas of troubleshooting? I already tried re-installing LMS and blowing away my database and rescanning and that didn't do anything.
