Hi, I'm a very long-time squeeze user - so far everything has been done using a pc running just lms - either a windows version or currently a dedicated unit running Daphile (very good by the way) .
All my other data / films etc etc I have kept on a WD NAS.
I now need to change the WD NAS and have built my own NAS box.
It seems silly to run 2 x boxes all the time so I want to use NAS software that will also allow me to run the lms server (and be a local player).
Only Amahi seems to offer a simple route - but I don't like the "closed" feel to it - seems very proprietary /and worried that I will be locked-in.
I really like the flexibility of the Freenas software and am playing at the moment - but getting LMS 7.9 installed looks to be beyond me.
So is there other easy NAS software (with an easy LMS install) to consider for a complete Linux newbie.
Or do I just use windows (probably 7) to run everything.
Or is there any easy install instructions that I can follow for Freenas.
Big thanks in advance.
