During playback i'm experiencing a large gap/delay between songs. I think it has something to do with iTunes.
I'm running the latest version of LMS (7.7.2 - r33893) with iTunes 11 on Windows7. i've been using LMS and Squeezebox with iTunes for years but recently had to reinstall everything due to a hard drive crash. After i reinstalled everything i was experiencing a large gap/delay between songs and I managed to get rid of it after some experimentation with the Audio settings. the ones i'm using are attached in the screenshot.
Everything has been working fine until last night (of course, it was during a party) when LMS started having large gaps between songs. I think it started happening after my daughter bought a few songs on Amazon and the downloader had some trouble adding the songs to iTunes (it told me to close iTunes and reopen it, which i did, and the songs added OK).
I'm sure it has something to do with iTunes, because when a song is nearing completion, iTunes pops up. I also pops up if i touch the playback progress bar while a song is playing.
i've seen a similar kind of gap before when iTunes is prompting the user for something (like an invitation to update to a new version) and LMS gets hung up waiting for iTunes while it is waiting for the user to close the dialog box. but in this instance, iTunes isn't prompting for anything. i tried closing iTunes and stopping/restarting LMS but no luck.
Any ideas?
