How to prevent iMac running OS X Mountain Lion from sleeping

I have a Squeezebox Duet and a Squeezebox Radio. I am running Logitech Media Server on a May 2011 iMac running OS X Mountain Lion. I have changed my Energy Saver settings so "Computer sleep" is set to "Never." "Display sleep" is set to 10 minutes.

If my Mac is idle for a while (nothing playing on any of the Squeezeboxes) and then I try to play something using, say, the Duet controller, the little icon that shows network connectivity is red instead of white and any attempts to play anything return an error saying it is unable to connect to the server.

If I then hit the space bar to wake up the screen and enter my password to get to my desktop, the network connectivity icon on the Duet controller turns to white and I am then able to play music.

Has anyone else seen this? How do I prevent this problem?
