"SOLUTION to: LMS 7.9 AND iPeng 9 Stopped Working with .AIFF Files Encoded By iTunes"

I’d like to share with you the perplexing source of the problem I was experiencing. I recently re-ripped my hundreds of music CD’s using iTunes on my new iMac and selected iTunes “.AIFF" format for lossless storage. THAT was the problem: I finally discovered in my research online that a while back Apple changed their iTunes .AIFF encoder software to a “non-standard” version. And Apple's "new .AIFF" version does NOT work with many other non-iTunes music players and controllers such as Logitech Media Server v. 7.9 Or iPeng.

Specifically from online:
"Re: Problem with aif or aiff files
The issues might possibly be related to the fact that despite an already established standard (created in 1988) having big endian byte order, a few years ago Apple with OSX issued a number of apps (such as iTunes) that create a little endian variant (officially
"AIFF-C/sowt") that, while should technically be given the extension .AIFC, is usually labelled .AIF or .AIFF by the app which creates it the same as the original big endian aiff files. For many apps which can handle both types this difference goes unnoticed to the end user. However you can imagine the confusion this can cause when apps which can import the old big endian aiff's that don't handle the little endian variant.”

SOLUTION:
Therefore I found that running my thousands of iTunes .AIFF encoded music tracks through a free app download: "MediaHuman Audio Convertor" - https://www.mediahuman.com - to convert to lossless ".FLAC files” and THEN convert them to standard .AIFF files in the convertor, which iTunes cannot do, solved the problem and iPeng 9 and SqueezeServer now work fine!. (Converting them DIRECTLY to standard .AIFF without first to .FLAC does NOT work.)

Hopefully this wordy explanation may help you in using LMS and (iPeng 9) with .AIFF files encoded by iTunes.
