Can't play an AAC stream on Squeezebox Boom + LMS 7.9.1 1521438894

I am having problems with a particular stream from WOSU NPR station playing on my Sq Boom (plays fine on a Sq Radio btw). The stream seems to play for about 3 seconds and than stops (no audio the whole time). The Sq Boom screen shows "Problem: Can't open file for WOSU". I can see that the stream is AAC and needs to be decoded to FLAC to play on a Boom, but I am not sure what the problem is (faad is there in /Bin and is running correctly, no other faad installed). The debug level log does not show any errors, all transcoding options are set to the default values. I would appreciate any help with getting this sorted out!

Here are the last few lines from the logs:

Is the 2.7 faad version from http://downloads.sourceforge.net/faac/faad2-2.7.zip OK to use with LMS or do I need to get a patched version? I had to build it from source to run on a FreeBSD 11 machine.
