Sometimes we should talk :-): I had exactly the same experience! Every
now and then a service restart would take minutes on my main server. At
first I thought it was Spotty (even tried to implement some asnyc way of
running the helper while waiting for its output...). But lack of reports
here, and as this never happened in dev or on the Pi based system, I
blamed my aging server...
