LMS won't let me add drive/file to scan.....HELP!

Several days ago I started reripping my CD collection to a portable WD usb hard drive, this time in lossess FLAC format. At that time I noticed when I pugged in the usb HD to my laptop, my laptop reported it as 2 drives; G drive had the music files and H drive had the software that came with the usb HD. So I pointed LMS to look in my laptop's internal drive (C drive) and the G drive on the usb HD. I then rescanned and everything was working fine for several days; I could stream music from either the C drive on my laptop or the G drive connected via usb to my laptop. As I continued to add files, I would rescan each day so LMS would read the new files.

Today for some reason when I plug in the usb HD, the drive letter designations have swapped. Now my laptop reports drive H for the partition containing the music folder and drive G for the partition containing the HD drive's software. So I figured I would just add the H drive to LMS. However, LMS will let me go through the motions of adding the H drive, but when I click on Apply then OK, it doesn't seem to save it. I can see it lists the H drive, but if I close then reopen LMS, the H drive is no longer in the list. So now when I rescan, it only scans the C drive (the G drive is still listed, but since the drive letters on the usb HD have swapped, there are no music folders on the G drive).

I've tried ejecting the usb HD then reconnecting, but that didnt' work. I've tried ejecting the usb HD drive, rebooting the computer, the reconnecting the usb HD, but the drive designations remain swapped. Is there a way to get the drive letter designations back where they started?

No matter what the drive designations, I should be able to add them to the LMS library so it will scan those drives/folders, right? Why won't LMS save the additional library location and scan it?

I spent many, many hours so far reripping my CD collection (I still have ALOT to go!) and as it stands now I cannot stream any of the new lossless files!

Help!

If it matters, LMS is version 7.7.2-r33893. My laptop is running Windows Vista SP2.
