SB1: is it dying or just no longer supported?

I'm running a Squeezebox SB1, Radio, and Boom on LMS 7.8.1

I went to try LMS 8 and the Boom and Radio seem happy with it, but the SB1 just reboots every time after it finishes getting an IP address. Never connects to LMS, just reboots. Switch back to LMS 7.8.1 and all is well again.

Is my SB1 dying, or is it just no longer supported?

Any workarounds like the Radio firmware patch?
