I've been running LMS 7.9.x in a Docker container on my QNAP NAS for a few years now, along with the uPnPBridge plug-in to send music to my Sonos gear. I've had no problems whatsoever (except for when I've done something wrong and it's therefore my fault!)
Up until a few days ago, I'd been using the 'justifiably' Docker image, but had been keeping a close eye on the official Docker image that everyone's been working hard on and finally decided to use this instead. I've set up a completely fresh Docker container using the 'latest' tag, i.e. version 8.1.1. I didn't migrate any configuration files over from my old container - it's a completely fresh install.
Unfortunately I'm noticing songs being skipped in the play queue. It isn't too frequent or consistent, but I've noticed it happening maybe 8 times over the last 2 days. In most cases I'll hear a micro-second of the song then it immediately skips to the next one. All my tracks are locally-stored FLAC files on the same box, and if I go back and try replaying them, they work perfectly.
(side note: as I've been typing this, the play queue just stopped entirely until I hit skip for the next song - first time I've seen that happen).
I've been trying to work out what's going on, and started off inspecting the uPnPBridge logs. I can't see anything specific going wrong from those so was trying to inspect the main LMS server.log files. Unfortunately nothing seems to have been captured in the server.log since my last rescan yesterday. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong with the standard LMS logging, as I've never really used it before. I've applied the 'Reset Logging Preferences' option and can see most things below being set to log the 'Error' level, but nothing is getting logged in server.log whenever a track gets skipped over.
I've attached my uPnPBridge log anyway in case somebody can see something I've missed, but didn't bother with the server.log because it hadn't been appended to. Sequence of events in the uPnPBridge log:
1) The Beatles - I'll Be On My Way: Played through okay
2) Mogwai - Cody: I heard a split second of sound, then it immediately skipped to....
3) Mojave 3 - Any Day Will be Fine: played okay, then I stopped playback to inspect logs for why the Mogwai track skipped.
So firstly, has anybody else had issues with tracks being skipped since updating to version 8? And secondly, how can I configure LMS Server logging correctly to help identify the underlying cause?
EDIT: Just realised I can try something else to troubleshoot - I'm going to spend the rest of the night listening to music on my phone via iPeng instead. Therefore if skipping occurs with iPeng too then it's likely something happening with LMS rather than uPnPBridge. Will report back...
Thanks!
