Good Morning,
My Squeezebox Touch is, unfortunately, reaching the end of its lifespan. It's been my main source of streamed music for many years now, from my own music library, but the rear plug section is breaking down, requiring frequent wipes with isopropyl alcohol to remove the stickiness and it has a tendency to turn on and off at will. Obviously a componant is beginning to breakdown.
I have now purchased a third party player to continue using LMS via the UPnP bridge. I have been using this plugin for a while, on several internet connected radios etc., but I needed to have a replacement for the Touch.
On the Touch, for example, there are settings in the audio section for crossfade, fade in, fade out and so on, plus various other settings.
Is there a way of getting these settings to work on third party players? Obviously I would prefer to keep using the Touch and my other players, but I have to face facts, they are all "old" now and are prone to going wrong.
The manufacturer of the new player, indicates that the player will work with a server, (in fact it lists two servers, but not LMS) but that it relies on the settings, in the server, to vary it's basic playing format.
The UPnP bridge is a brilliant plugin and it would be advantageous if settings found on, for instance the Touch, could be replicated by a third party player.
I use Muso as a "front-end" for playing purposes. Within that program, there is a setting called "Magic Wand" which allows random music play, from the library. The Squeezebox Touch audio setting allows for crossfade between tracks, giving continuous music, but on third party players only basic replay is available.
Any advice would be welcome, as to whether it is possible for LMS settings to be used in a third party player.
