LMS log really slow to update

I'm trying to get some debug info on a problem with audio streamed from my VDR Streamdevserver.
I have selected the logging stream profile in the advanced tab but when I view the log, the last entry is timed over an hour ago. If I view the log file at /var/log/squeezeboxserver it also is not up to date.

Is LMS caching up log entries before writing to the log file? Can I set it to write entries immediately?
