Connecting SBT via USB to a windows PC

I do know that this could go either here in the LMS thread or in the SBT thread since it deals with both, i just picked here between the two.

howdy, i currently have my SBT at work connected directly to an ext usb drive running tinySB then out to an ext DAC via digital coax. at times, it's very slow and often crashes, nothing new right!?!

i want to know this, if i install LMS full version on my pc, can i connect the SBT to the pc via USB (class 2) will it still work properly or not? will i still get my hi-rez audio streamed to the SBT so that it can be bitstreamed to the ext DAC?

i do have a SBT at home, but, it's connected to a music server pc via a wired network and it's a beautiful thing.

i'm hoping the answer is yes and i'll make that move. i just don't want to do it won't work. keep in mind, i have an ext DAC (Emotiva XDA-1) to handle the conversion before going to an external amp (Emotiva mini-X amp/pre-amp) then out to speakers.

if anyone has their SBT connected as a transport to the pc running LMS via USB please let me know how it's working out. running it at work is nice but, the tinySB on the ext hd is really, really bad. it's very slow, constantly rebuffering and crashes too much. my setup at home works like a charm.

oh yeah, my work pc is running win 7--64bit. i will say that when it's working right, the sound is incredible, however, when it's buffering or crashing....not so much!

thanks to everyone for their time and for their postings in this thread.
