Hi All,
I recently bought a new house and I'm in the process of renovating it, whilst I'm at it, I'm installing a load of cabling for smart home and media stuff as well. I quite like the idea of having a Karaoke setup for the occasional party or at Xmas etc, but I'm looking for something that is kind of integrated into the house. I came across an open source project karaoke-forever which looks pretty good, it can run on my home server along with my other smart home stuff and kind of just sits there dormant waiting for someone to use it.
That's exactly the sort of thing I'm after, but i'd like to play the final mixed audio via LMS and just display the lyrics on a TV, that's where I'm a bit stuck, Karaoke Forever plays the audio/video via a web app, the plan was to have a local DNS for something like karaoke.local, then whenever someone wanted to use it we'd just navigate to that url on the browser on the TV.
There are a couple of issues with that though, I need a way to mix the microphones with the audio without using another computer if possible, and how to get the audio to play via LMS instead of just the TV's built in speakers.
So basically I'm just looking to see if anyone has any ideas of how to get around this, or if anyone has any different ideas altogether? I still have time until the walls are plastered to bury some more cables if need be.
