Play start when powering on synchronized device

Hi,

I have several devices all synchronized with each other. If a device is not powered on and I am already playing something on the others, when I power on there seems to be two different possible random behaviours:

1) there is a pause while the new device syncs and then playback continues where it left off

or

2) the new device syncs but playback stops on all devices

Is there a setting I missed which instructs the devices to always behave as described in (1)?
