Tracks stop playing or dropouts in LMS/PicorePlayer

Hi, sorry for just another post about dropouts and tunes stop playing but I'm experiencing a quite strange behavior on my LMS/PcP system.

Since a couple of days while playing a playlists of selected tracks, or an album, or the random mix from my collection on an USB drive which is connected to the rPI on which both pCP and LMS are installed, after playing X number of titles correctly; all of a sudden LMS (or PcP?) stops playing the track.

The strange thing is that the bar that indicates the progress of the track being palyed in the playback section, still goes on as if the track were actually playing, but the audio is no longer heard.

If I wait a few seconds, I can see that the bar stops, goes back a few seconds and starts again until the point where it stopped before , and then stops again and. goes back a few seconds, again and again in a sort of loop; in all that I can't hear any sound.

I've tried clicking with the mouse on the bar a little before or after the point where the audio stops, and the track resumes. But after a while it stops a bit further on, or finishes correctly, goes to the next track and the same thing happens with the next track, or one or two tracks later... . It Never happened (I had dropouts in the past with podcasts, or playing a radio channel) but never with tracks from my own USB..

I thought it was a corrupted file, but that's not the case because it's random and when I play that track on another device it's fine; I thought about dropouts due to the local network, or LMS, so I restarted both a few times... Initially everything seems to be back to normal, but after a while it has the same behaviour again.

I'm quite puzzled... thanks for any hint
