Issue with volume of alarm

Hi everyone,

I have set my alarm to "fade in", i.e, increase volume from zero.
However, upon reaching the desired level, the volume goes back to a very low setting (7 out of 100). Luckily, I am usually awake by this time :-)

I have tried to delete the alarm and make a new one with the same setting.
I have tried to unset the option to "fade in" - in this case the alarm plays at volume 7 regardless of what I set the level to in the alarm.

The player is a Chromecast Audio device and works via the Chromecast plugin. I have tried to restart the plugin with no effect.
I have set the wake-up music to a local radio station, but I expect the issue to persist if I select other sources.

Has anyone experienced this?
It is a bit hard for me to know if it is an issue in the server code, plugin code or an intereaction. The issue has persisted from LMS 8.0 to now 8.3.
Any ideas?
What is the best way to debug?
