Scanner always finds one new music file

Running the latest 8.3 nightly on Debian Jessie with up-to-date Perl modules.

I performed a clean scan of my music folders, then re-ran the scanner looking for new or changed files. It claimed to have found one new file. I ran it again, and again it claimed to have found one new file. Every time I run the scanner, it always claims to find one new music file in a particular music folder, even if I have made no changes to my library -- and in fact, even if I have removed all files and subdirectories from that folder.

Meanwhile, the total number of tracks in my library, as shown on the LMS home page, never changes.

Code:

[22-09-06 01:03:45.4740] main::main (202) Starting Logitech Media Server scanner (v8.3.0, 1662405429, Mon 05 Sep 2022 09:54:10 PM CEST) perl 5.020002

[22-09-06 01:03:46.8955] Slim::Utils::Scanner::Local::addTracks (453) Scanning new audio files (1)

The unredacted head of a log taken with no files or subdirectories in the folder, with the "scanner" log set enabled, is at https://pastebin.com/k3GwksHk . Unfortunately, even that verbose debug logging does not show the name of the file that was supposedly found.

Any ideas how to fix this, or how to see the name of the file that the scanner thinks it has found?
