Not scanning entire directory

I am in the process of rebuilding a Pi3 (Max2play 2.56) LMS server for my cottage. I have installed a nightly 8.30 version of LMS. I have copied and verified my entire music catalog from my home NAS to a portable HD. Music consists of FLAC and MP3. During the "discovering of files /directories on the portable HD I get the following :



It seems to be failing or quitting at 91K of 102k music files. I have a LMS running in a container on my home NAS which when scanning reports the correct amount of music files (102K). I mounted the NAS music directory from my Pi LMS and rescanned and once again got the same results 91k of 102K music files. So I don't believe there is any issues with my portable HD or it's contents. I am getting some errors in the scanner log, but I don't believe anything serious enough to bounce the process.

EDIT: I also noted when performing a "look for new or changed file" scan , it does discover the missing 11k files as "new files" but cannot add them . Could it be a memory/resource issue on the Pi? I have all LMS performance setting s at default.
