Back when I was still using WMP, I routinely created playlists. One whole series of playlists was for different takes of various songs. For instance, I'd put in Across the Borderline by Ry Cooder (original) and Willie Nelson (cover), along with a whole lot of other pairs. Good way to sample the library and to hear interesting differences in interpretation. Also made many other playlists using different themes. I have playlists for most letters of the alphabet (Across the Borderline is, of course, in "A").
I could make the playlists in WMP easily -- display all songs alphabetically, and just go through the list finding songs of the same name and deciding which ones to put in a playlist. Or use different criteria.
Well, time passes and the playlists are without music collected in the last few years. I want to update them.
I avoid using WMP altogether. I use Winamp to make the same kinds of playlists for my lossy archive (I then copy the music in the playlists to flash drives for use in my car). I don't want to point Winamp to my lossless archive, reserve it only for lossy, and I don't want to point LMS to the lossy playlists that Wimamp makes, which would defeat the lossless purpose of my system.
I can't figure out a way to do the same kind of thing in LMS. There seems to be no convenient way to create playlists, other than while actually listening to the music. Very inefficient.
Recommendations?
