At the moment my LMS is running on an old Windows machine and is languishing on some old version.
I have little need to mess about tweaking things nowadays, so my plan is to get LMS setup on a Linux virtual machine which I leave and never upgrade/tweak. So I can move it from host hardware to host hardware over the years without having to do anything to keep it running.
I'm wondering what are the best options are for choice of Linux distro, LMS version and 32/64 bit ?
My default choice for Linux distro would be Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, as I already have a couple of VMs running using that. I assume there are no problems with that and LMS ?
I see there is LMS 7.7 and 7.8, is 7.8 done and fully stable or is it still in beta ?
With my VM I can choose 32bit or 64bit. I'm thinking that 32bit might be the best choice as there are a few old plugins that I use that maybe might not have easily available 64bit binaries ?
