WIndows 8.1 - scan not completing
Great to see you guys continuing the support of this terrific software
I have owned a Boombox for some years now and really impressed with the apps now appearing on google shop for the network control of the device.
I am now looking to process my media on my main home stereo setup. I was initially considering a CA Streamer Magic 6 but given the extent of the negative reviews on the software I decided to proceed with the Transporter !
I then went through the process of updating the LMS software on my Windows 8.1.1 64bit PC with a OCZ Agility 3 SSD. I have 184GB of music in 7005 files. When I run the scanner it ALWAYS stops part way through in less than a minute. The last file name displayed in the control panel varies. The green progress bar is typically 60% to 80% complete. There is nothing in the log file. I cannot 'abort scan' and have either reboot the machine or kill "Logitech Media Server Scanner (32bit)" in task manager (it says it is using 32% of my CPU) in order to continue. I then delete the cache, repeat the scan, notice that it gets to a different file after less than a minute before it stops, and confirm there are no adverse entries on the log file. I have gone through my media and deleted anything that looks suspect - foreign characters in the file names etc ..
I have tried running LMS 7.6.1, 7.7.3, 7.8.0 and the latest beta on 7.8.1 but every time I get the same problem.
I have also source an old copy of 7.2.1 WHICH WORKS but throws up a lot of 'tag' errors.
I also have some 'compressed' '.wav' files which also seem to be causing a problem - these are PCM, 411kbps, 16 bits, 2 channel.
I have added the server and scanner logs for 7.2.1 and 7.8.1
