Issues with LMS, SBT & after upgrades

I preface this request for help by saying that I am very low-tech, ink & quill, and if you are kind enough to help me out, please pretend you are explaining this to a 5 year-old, since most 6 year-olds know more about computers than I do.

Problems with mysqueezebox and apps after upgrade to Vortexbox2.3 - My upgrade went well, but I was not able to backup the library. When I powered up the SBT after the upgrade, of course, the apps are gone. The SBT prompted me to update the software to 7.8.0-r16754, and I did (it really didn't give me a choice). That may be the issue, as something similar happened to me a few years ago, but I cannot remember how it was resolved. The only app I regularly use is Pandora. When I go to the app gallery or My Apps on the SBT, I get: "A mysqueezebox.com account is required for this service. Please access LMS Settings -> mysqueezebox.com with a web browser to configure." I accessed LMS via the VB GUI, and signed in. It shows that my Pandora account is okay, and Pandora is checked on the plugins page. If I unplug the SBT and reboot it, I can access the apps including Pandora, but if I go back to "My Music" on the home menu, it prompts me to switch libraries to the VB, and if I do that, I cannot get back to the apps, I get that message again about the mysqueezebox.com account. I also see on the Players page of mysqueezebox (also through my VB GUI) that my SBT is "not connected". The HTTP proxy reads "0", and if I try to enter the IP address of my VB, it disappears when I reload the page. Not sure what to do here.
