LMS on MacOS 10.15 "Catalina"?

Yes. iTunes import is dead. macOS no longer provides the XML file we've
been parsing for years. From the discussions I've read this is gone for
good, and was supposed to be deprecated for years.

Local .rss file to podcasts

Hello,

There is no RSS feed for finnish radio show but the episodes are stored in their website. One guy made a software that creates a .rss file from the episodes.

I have the .rss file on my computer but I don't know how to get it to LMS. Is there anyway to play locally stored .rss file for example.

Here is a example of .RSS file for 3 episodes.

Code:

Library View/Multiple Folders

$

I’ve asked this in the past and never really gotten an answer I could get to work, so trying again - is there any way to have a library view that is limited to the contents of two or more folders? Someone mentioned using shortcuts but I couldn’t get that to work.

I have all my CD rips stored in one folder by genre and then vinyl rips in another again by genre, and I’d just like to be able to have a single library view that combines, say the content of the 70s R&B folder from each location, or such. Thanks!

Players are loosing sync, but there's nothing in the sync debug log

So I've noticed that especially with large groups, the players tend to sometimes get completely out of sync.

However, Slim::Player::StreamingController::_CheckSync doesn't report a different offset than before.

In this example, 00:04:20:1e:9a:0c skipped over 30 seconds ahead somewhere around 13:48:29.

To fix this situation, the song has to be manually skipped to an arbitrary timestamp. This way, all players sync again.

Maybe the mp3 decoder receives broken frames and just skips them?

I think this was the result of trying "Squeezebox for Kodi" which I have discontinued use of. I have two instances of the same player in my LMS web interface. At one point while playing music on one player it apparently switched players and the music abrubtly stopped until I switched the player back again. I tried deleting the extra player in MySqueezebox.com where it also appeared. how do I get rid of it permanently?

BBC feeds on TuneIn

Hi Guys

Been away for a while! When I fired up my Logitech radio, I noticed that TuneIn no longer provides radio feeds for the BBC radio channels. I found an article on the interweb that confirmed that it stopped doing this back on August 30th.

Simple question then: is there a simple way for me to get the streams back using maybe another app/method?

As always, thanks in advance for your help.

Cheers

Steve

Hi,

I hope someone can help me out...

LMS thinks audio files are deleted if remote library has been offline

My system comprises a PCP and LMS running on a RPi with my library files stored on a Windows share.

PCP was playing fine and then later a certain track wouldn't play. I saw that my PCP couldn't connect to the LMS (also running on the RPi) and so I rebooted it. I noted it flagged it couldn't mount the music library on my Windows server so I checked and it was offline for some reason. I restarted the server and it came back fine.

Music files still wouldn't play so I checked the server.log:

[19-10-13 20:52:51.7539] Slim::Formats::readTags (171) File missing: /mnt/music/In Crowd, The/The In Crowd - 2005 - His Majesty Is Coming/Disc 1/03 - Marcus Garvey's Back In Town (12' mix).flac

Then I tried a Look for New media scan and saw that it was deleting a load of files!

So why does it think that all my audio files are deleted after the library has returned?
Does the fact that it's gone offline once mean they are flagged for subsequent deletion, even if they subsequently come back?

RealMedia Streaming Playback?

$

I am a member of a website (ReelRadio.com) that I have used since about 1996 which features streams only available in RealMedia format (.rm files). Yes. I know. Real Media/Real Audio is an old format that most sites have abandoned. But the site that I want to listen to exhibits from will never change/upgrade to newer formats. In fact, when the person who started and ran the website died last year it went dark only to be revived by fans of the site and it is mostly volunteer and relies on donations to stay afloat. So, the chances of re-working streams are close to nil.

How can I listen to these streams through Logitech Media Server? I have searched but cannot find a way to do this.

Tidal/My Apps option missing (sometimes)

All of a sudden this morning, My Apps seems to vanish intermittently as a choice. Sometimes it is only Tidal that vanishes. This occurs on the web interface and on iPeng. Using the Touch interface, it took some time to find Tidal, but was ultimately successful. A few points:

When the interface problem exists, it affects a number of my players: Touch, iPhone, and ChromeCast Audio with CastBridge. That's all I've tried.

This occurred before and after the most recent update.

Once Tidal appears, I have no trouble playing music from it.

Logitech Media Server and PiCorePlayer on NAS

Sorry if this information is already out there. I did spend a lot of time searching.

I want to migrate all of my lossless music files from a MacMini running LMS to a Synology 218+ NAS. Basically I want to copy all of my music to the NAS and set up a Rasberry Pi as an LMS server, but I'm a little fuzzy on some of the details.

My Synology NAS will be ethernet connected to our internet server/router.

Does my Rasberry Pi, running PiCorePlayer, have to be directly connected to the NAS or can it connect via WiFi? If it it has to be directly connected, how so? USB or ethernet?

Sorry, I know this is a very basic sort of question.

How can I get all the radios through LMS cli (9000 port)?

From the docs: "The "serverstatus" query returns a complete status
about the server, including its players.". Pretty much sums it up in one
phrase.

Scanner speed on Win10

$

I switched from Mac to Win10 on a NUC for LMS.

- Scanning speed (on faster hardware) is much slower compared to my old Mac.
- My music is stored in several sets of Media folders and I used to scan only the folder which has changed or added files, maybe 5 minutes and it was done. If I scan only one Media folder on Win10 the library is reduced (some albums are missing). The solution is rescanning the entire library which takes one hour or more.

I probably overlooked something, no idea what's the cause.

Can I add a WiFi driver to pCP

Hello
I need an external WiFi driver for my player, Pi 3b+ and pCP.
I have a RTL 8188eus usb adapter with an external antenna. I also have a driver disc with linux driver on it. Unfortunately pCP does not detect it. Is there any way to use this adapter with its drivers.
Has anyone any ideas.

Silence from a streaming radio station

$

Recently one of my streaming stations quit playing. The server connects and stays connected, shows the correct bitrate, but there is no sound. All of my other stations play properly. LMS is a recent 7.9.2 nightly running on Debian Stretch on a Kirkwood SOC box. Players are Squeezelite on Debian on Pogo Plugs. Same situation on both players and same on my previous 7.8 server on the famous Squeeze on Arch on a PogoPlug. I set the logging to info for the streaming components (as far as I can tell) but I can't discern a difference between a stream that plays and the one that does not. The URL for the stream plays properly in VLC and in a browser tab on both Chrome and Opera. And their app plays on an IOS device.

The stream is 48 kbs MP3 which seems a pretty low bitrate for music.

The station is Northwest Public Broadcasting/Radio from Washington state. The URL is http://134.121.234.129:8000/NWPRCLASSICAL

I have contacted the station and they did not immediately ID a problem. Since the URL plays, they are not highly motivated, I think.

Is there an app to view the stream to see if there is something there? Wireshark?

Thoughts anyone?

Library stored on FreeNas NFS share => possible ?

I am considering moving my LMS library off the older vortexbox hw onto a newer FreeNas platform. I would like to use NFS on the FreeNas box for the library.

I have the NFS share setup on the FreeNas box, copied some music folders over, and can access from a Linux client..

Do I simply need to mount the NFS share on the Vortexbox/LMS box to connect to the FreeNas share ? I was hoping there was a LMS plugin for freenas, but I think this is a work in progress ...

Coincidence, or Problem with October 21, 2019 update?

$

I updated my Debian RPi with the new 7.9.2 - 1571644358 LMS this week, and it seems that at least one radio station I have been streaming error free on my Squeezebox Classic for years is now "Rebuffering" frequently.
-I was previously using a LMS version from July.
-My Squeezebox Touch works fine with this station
-When I use an older LMS 7.9.2 - 1562753347 that exists on a Windows machine, my old Classic works fine.
-I have not tested my system running wired, just WiFi. Signal strength 87%

I have not figured out how to rollback the Oct 21 update to test to see if this indeed solves the problem

Any ideas?

Thanks
