1st problems in many months w re-buffering

This may be a bit misjointed but it is the best I remember. I was checking yesterday to see if I had added a folder to my library-to do this I use Squeezeplay. Squeezeplay would not connect. Looking at the Control Panel it showed that it was scanning. I have a scheduled scan which is to run much earlier in the day. This was odd so I went to try and see what was going on by accessing the Web Remote Control and Advanced Settings. I have not used them in several weeks and could not access them. At one point I had to use Google Chrome to get there. Evidently this is no longer supported by Google Chrome ? In looking through the forums it appears that the Web UI issues were resolved in LMS 7.7.4. I was using 7.7.1. I decided to update to 7.7.4 and everything appeared to be fine. I was able to access Squeezeplay and the Web UI. I however did not actually listen to any music.

Today I had issues again. The Control Panel did not show normally under status-all fields at the bottom were missing. I shut down my Windows 7 PC and router and then rebooted. All appeared to be well until I went to my Touch to play music. All I got was constant re-buffering which I have not had an issue with in quite some time on my wireless network. Grasping at straws I did a firmware update-no change. I then did a factory reset again no change. It was time for a break as I was very frustrated.

I later went to the Web UI and used it to start playing music. The re-buffering was gone. I checked both Touch players on the floor below and in the basement and they played fine w no re-buffering.

I am not sure why this happened but I seem to recall similar actions when my network was less reliable than I believe it is now. Maybe it's the weather as it is extremely humid/foggy although the info showed the signal as being as strong as usual. Perhaps this might help someone else if they experience a similar issue. I believe the key was to start play using the Web UI as that is when the problem went away.

Any thoughts ?
