Prevent rescan on adding a playlist

I want to add a playlist (that refers to files in the LMS database) from elsewhere and play it without any LMS rescan. There must be a way, isn't there?

I'm sure there an answer to this question, and I may even have asked before, but I've searched here and in the LMS GUI and can't find a solution.
