How to stop LMS on a MAC OSX other than stopping the perl service?

I'm sorry if this has been addressed before, but I've searched and couldn't find the solution.

I am running LMS (7.7.3) on a Macmini using OSX Maverick (connected via ethernet to a wireless bridge to the router). While I was researching a frequent buffering issue on my SB Boom and SB Radio (both wireless, my SB TOuch is ethernet), I don't think that I made any changes to the settings, the only thing I REMEMBER doing was switching "allow incoming" OFF/ON/OFF. For some reason after that, I couldn't connect to the web control (System Config>LMS>Advanced>Web Control) or the settings. I received the error "localhost:9000 could not connect, try later". I also couldn't succesfully verify my squeezebox.com password even though I could log into mysqueezebox.com.

I tried to clear my cache, but it couldn't do it because LMS was running. When I tried to stop LMS server, it would still continue running. I then upgraded to LMS 7.8 but the issues remained. I did some research here and found that by stopping the perl process/service would stop LMS. Once I did that I was able to clear my cache (and then re-recognize my directories and other settings) and restart the LMS server. Everything was back to normal.

So, after all of that is there an easier way to stop the LMS server from running. (there was no option under the Force Quit pulldown).

Thanks!
