Hi,
First of all I'm new to this forum so please accept my apologies if this questions has been asked before, I had a quick trawl around but couldn't see anything specific to my problem, which is:-
Some time ago with an ageing computer and an almost full C: drive I bought an external HDD and transferred my music to that. The result was that tracks would play with a sometimes frequent burst of buzz/hiss and very often tracks would just stop and the next track in the play list would start this though was not concurrent with the buzz/hiss events. I tried various things to sort this such as re-ripping or re-coping files all to no avail. The eventual cure was to shift lots of non music stuff from my drive C: and put my music files back on to C:, no more problem.
I have just acquired a new computer with a small (120Gb) SSD on which the operating system (Windows 8.1) is installed, my music now residing on the internal 2Tb HDD and yes, you've guessed it, the same problem is back!
Can anyone offer any suggestions before I splash out on a bigger SSD or transfer the OS to the internal HDD or abandon the SB altogether.
For info:
Squeezebox Duet Receiver hard wired to Linksys WAG200G hard wired to computer. (this has run faultlessly for three years excepting the drive swapping episode).
Hoping someone can help.
Regards,
Brian.
