I have recently had some problems adding new flacs to my system. First I replaced a couple of tracks re-processed using a new CD drive and EAC (under wine) to see if I could get more accurate copies. This seemed to work LMS could not see the files. All other media tools worked across my network using foobar, Deadbeef and so on.
Assuming I had some corruption I verified the flacs (using flac) and did a full fsck on the disc - all OK. I deleted the cache and prefs and reinstalled LMS. Still no joy.
I then reprocessed the files using foobar, simply converting flac to flac, and the files became visible to LMS.
Today I bought, downloaded and installed a load of new flac tracks, and LMS (7.8) doesn't see any of them. All other tools see them over my network. gmusicbrowser on the local system can also see them, but I don't have an installed local media player on the system to play them there, since I don't use the internal audio on this hardware.
LMS sees all the flacs I have previously installed over several years. So something is odd about adding new files to the system. I'm baffled. When is a new flac not a flac to LMS, but is to everything else?
